Red Tractor Greener Farms Commitment.

The Red Tractor Greener Farms Commitment (GFC), a new module due to be available from April 2024, is a significant initiative to promote sustainability and environmentally responsible practices within the agricultural industry.

Red Tractor have been working on the GFC since 2020 with the aim to “protect farmers from future audit demands, costs and complexity.” It encourages farmers to adopt eco-friendly approaches in various aspects of their operations and track their progress across five key areas. These include carbon footprinting, soil management, nutrient management, waste management, and biodiversity. By adhering to the GFC, farmers in the UK can contribute to a more sustainable and greener agricultural sector, ensuring that the food they produce is not only of high quality but also produced with a strong focus on environmental conservation and stewardship.

A dedicated GFC logo will be introduced, allowing farmers to showcase their environmental commitment to consumers visibly.
